The upper falls are just past the bridge on the right. You can see the "U" shaped "apron" that precedes the falls here. It is about a three foot drop. Those yellow pilings are to keep boats from slipping over the edge while waiting for the lock.

This is the first weird animal for today. Anyone know what this thing is? I've seen a few more around since this was taken. I'm thinking groundhog or something. Anyway, it pretty much ignored me until I got really close. Then it shuffled into the brush.

Just past the garden the road ended in a big field of really tall grass. I headed back to the last bridge and crossed over to the east bank.

There were some low trails that I passed on the west bank. I had my bike, so I didn't try them out. There is a bridge over there though. Some time I'll come back on foot.

There's the Hennipen Bridge. The long sandstone building with the vertical black stripes behind the bridge is the post office. It's two city blocks long. That's a lot of post office!
